Are there any decomposers in the tundra? |
[Edit] |
[Edit]
Bacteria, the prime decomposers throughout the world, may be found in tundra.
Mosses lichen and fungi are also active decomposers but things take a long time to decompose in the tundra because there is only a short window of temperatures high enough to allow activity.
However, the tundra is gradually warming, releasing methane, so things might start speeding up soon.
