Answer
Well, all 3 explorers (Joliet, Marquette and La Salle) did not have any "direct" hands-on influence on the ensuing British-Franco conflicts. However, some of their discoveries and following colonizations of the territories in the americas eventually led to what is known as the French and Indian Wars. Many French colonies practically bordered with other British colonies, that led to many conflicts, each with its colonies and Indian allies on its side on a bid for the western territories.
Following France's defeat in the Seven Years' War, the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1763 and all French colonies were to be divided between the British and the Spanish. It wasn't until the Napoleonic era where France were able to get back some of the territories they lost, though only for a brief period of time.
