How do you find information on old commemorative medallions? |
[Edit] |
Answer
You could start by searching the Coins section of ebay.com
You could also check out exonumia.com
You can check out the Token & Medal Society website here : www.tokenandmedal.org
You can check out the list of Medals & Tokens websites here : www.coinclub.com/links/tokens.html
You may be able to find some books about tokens & medals at your local library.
This should give you a good start.
Answer
Start off with the first answer and if you have a 2006 Red Book by R.S. Yeoman (coil bound is the best) than look in the table of contents and some info on those coins is there.
Answer
While the Red Book gives information about Commemorative Coins, it does not cover Commemorative Medallions -- you would need to look at a book about tokens and medals.
There is a group called the Orders And Medals Society of America. This is a group of collectors that collects medallions and are a wealth of knowledge and they may be able to help you. They also go by the acronym OMSA.
