...but I feel if it's the real world it'd be sand molicules and it might be undiscussible for us to talk about.
Side one
Many religions believe that humans did not evolve, that they were created by God. In this case, God created the Earth, which includes the rocks, so that would be answer 1.
Side Two
However, some religions believe in Evolution, and that the Earth came from a giant meteor. In this case, I guess a meteor is rock, or would turn into Rock. This would be answer 2.

On note of your side two, you can't belive in a theory. Personally, I see it all as intelligent design, in which a omnipitent being (God) created time and space through the rules of scince which he also created. As for what the rock evolved from, the boulder. Smaller, smarter, like nanotech. ;p
