Maths Puzzle

It is not a trick question--just a straightforward maths problem.

If you can open the spreadsheet, you will see it's a very small list of
people who have gotten the correct number.

There are 7 girls in a bus
Each girl has 7 backpacks
In each backpack, there are 7 big cats
For every big cat, there are 7 little cats
Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

The number of legs is the password to unlock the Excel sheet.

If you open it, add your name and send it on to see who else can unlock it.
Send it back to let the person know you got it correct. This is a real maths
problem and there is no bus driver.

Put your name in the column with the names and forward it on, if you get the
right answer.

I figured out the answer & added my name to the list in the excel sheet.
ANSWER: 10990

How did I figure it out to get the answer you ask?

Math problem reads:

Girl #1
has
7 back packs
figure out how many in each backpack then by each girl then total them all

1st Backpack has
7 big cats

1 2 3 4 5 6 7
___________
Each big cat has 7 kittens

So make that 1 big cat + 7 kittens = 8

7 cats x's 7 kittens in each bag. (7 bags total)
_______________________________________

Cat # 1 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 2 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 3 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 4 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 5 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 6 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Cat # 7 + 7 kittens.) * + + + + + + + [8]

Total = = [7 X 8 = 56]

__________________________________________________________

56 cats per bag X 7 bags= 392

392 = number of Cats with EACH Girl

392 X 7 = 2744

[392 CATS PER GIRL]

[ 7 GIRLS]

{392 CATS X 7 GIRLS = 2744}

2744 x 4 = 10976

10976 + 14 = 10990

{2744 total number of cats in bus X 4 legs per cat = 10976 total cat legs}

+ 7 girls 2 legs each = 14

Now take

10976 + 14 = Grand Total of + 10990

10976 = cat legs

14 = girl legs

-----------------------------------------------------------------

14 legs on the bus

I say there is 198 legs on the bus. Here's how I figured it : 7 girls (7x2) = 14, 7 big cats (7x4) = 28, 49 little cats (49x4) = 196

14+28+196+2(bus driver)=198 legs
