What can you do to get your PC to recognize drives that previously worked after you have removed all computer viruses?

[Edit]

Answer

No software (such as a virus) can cause physical damage to your hard drive. If the virus was the original cause of the drive failing to be recognised. Erradication of the virus and it's incidental effects would restore the drive to it's original operating state. However it's possible the virus didn't cause your drive to become hidden, it may have just worn out.
