There are a couple of directions to go here.
you can buy a product called BRASSO that ia used as a brass polish but can also be used to polish plastic, check out this web page for info..

There are also those who claim boiling a disc in water for 1-2 minutes then air drying on a lint free towel work. I have never tried that so researcxh it more if interested.
