Sharp Shooting Pains
shooting pains in body would probably be something to do with the nerves. This is probably harmeless but if experienced over a long period should be investigated by a doctor. It can be a sign of a more sinister problem such as Multiple schlerosis. You do not say if it is accompanied by any other symptoms so if it isn't , it is most probably a passing phase of an imbalance in the body. Please see a doctor rather than worrying. Best wishes.
Explanations from other WikiAnswers Contributors:
- Most likely it's a lack of some vitamin or mineral or something your body needs (potassium possibly). But if it is really bad and isn't getting better, you should call your doctor and talk to them. It could be more serious.
- Carpal tunnel syndrome can begin with a tingling or numbness in the fingers. Adjust your workspace and consult a doctor if the symptoms do not decrease.
- Lyme Disease can cause sharp pains shooting down the arms and/or legs.
- I would think it would mean a pinched nerve.Or, your body can be lacking some mineral...maybe your dehydrated....
- Metabolic disorders
- Low levels of B=6
- Certain types of neuropathy
Sometimes its just gas, especially if you are getting sharp pains in the top of your back, i never thought gas would go there but it does, try a Simethecone tablet, see if it goes away. You can get sharp pains in the bowel if your are constipated.
Or if you have been in one position for a long time, then get relaxed, it can happen then.
