What happens to bodies after death? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Depending on your family, it will probably be either buried or cremated...
But really, your spirit continues on bodiless until the resurrection when your spirit will be reunited with a perfect body never to be separated again. Christ was the perfect model. He was crucified and his body lay in the tomb until the third day until His spirit reentered His body. After we are resurrected our bodies will live on forever hopefully in the presence of God, but that depends on what you do here.
Alternate Answer
Basically all living beings, including human beings, are made up of 'mind' and' body'. Upon death the body is disintegrated back into the basic 4 elements: earth, water, air and fire, while the mind energy is propelled to higher or lower consciousness depending on how you lived that life. Some schools of thought mention that the mind energy goes to heaven or hell, while others mention the theory of rebirth or reincarnation. We should be more concerned with the mind than the body since the body is just a house or shelter for the mind.
