[Edit] |
New Answer 4/29/08
He is said to be in talks with the people of HBO to see what they can work out as far as him coming to their channel instead. He mentioned in an interview he was interested in what they had to say because he would no longer have to censor his ideas like he had on Comedy Central. He has been at home in Yellow Springs, Ohio recently trying to re-group and write.
Former Answer
He is not. Charly Murphy has confirmed that the show is over. It's a shame becuase it was such a great show. Thank god for DVD's.
New, CORRECT Answer
He wants to. The following is from Newsday.com on Feb. 4th, 2006.

Is Dave Chappelle returning to Comedy Central? The answer would now appear to be "yes." He told Oprah Winfrey and a nationwide audience Friday he wants to come back to complete his series, but he wasn't too clear on the "when" or "how."
After scoring a $50-million deal and enough media adulation to make even someone like Oprah a little envious, Chappelle abruptly left his series last summer, but Friday laid out a "scenario" for his eventual return. "I do want to do my show again, provided I can make the proper work environment, but more importantly ... I'm trying to unload this money back to the people who supported me. I have this vision of the people who suffered in Katrina ... "
Comedy Central, which has announced plans to air four unfinished episodes of "Chappelle's Show" this summer, said in a statement Friday, "Dave is a comedic genius whose work we truly value and our door will always be open to him."
Chappelle said that after signing the $50-million deal for a third and fourth season, he admitted to being "incredibly stressed out."
He got a solid laugh from the audience when Winfrey asked whether - as reported - he went to a psychiatric hospital in Africa: "Who goes from America to Africa for medical attention?"
Answer
Its not going to happen. Even if he does somehow become involved in some kind of show again, it wouldn't be the same. Him and Comedy Central saying they 'want to maybe do it again' is PR bullcrap. He was very pissed at the network for how they dealt with him after the new contract and I can't imagine they were too happy with him after being left in the lurch.
