Since you're on the internet, go to the State of Calif. web site, I stumbled across attic fans with solar batteries there a few years ago. Calif is big on energy savings.

You can also go to Home Depot to see if they have them in your area. In the San Diego,CA area they carry solar-powered gable and roof mounted types of fans for about 60 bucks plus another 30ish dollars for the solar panel. They are super easy to put in and you don't have to know ANYTHING about electricity to hook the wires together; they use aligator clips to connect the fan and the solar panel together.
